SABO Slay (Blue)

    A question we are often asked | How does the SABO Slay compare to the SABO Deadlift? Which one should I choose?

    The key similarity between the SABO Slay and the SABO Deadlift is the sole. Both share an ultra-thin (2-5mm) minimal sole that is flat. This makes both shoes ideal for deadlifting. Many other lifters also use them for squats, bench and other lifts. The sole on the SABO Slay is softer and a touch grippier than the SABO Deadlift. If you are considering the SABO Deadlift then rest assured, the sole is still very grippy! The sole on the SABO Slay is also stitched.

    The SABO Deadlift features metal reinforced eyelets for the top section. It also features metatarsal and ankle straps which provide superior support. The metatarsal strap in particular helps lock your foot into position.

    In summary, the difference in performance is marginal. If you are a powerlifter then we recommend choosing whichever shoe you prefer. For those looking for a good all-round shoe for lifting then opt for the SABO Slay.

    Stable Lifting Platform - Though Don't Expect an All-Rounder for the Gym

    Great stable flat sole for deadlifts and squats, they have a good low to ground connection for driving with the heels.
    They are describes as the grippiest soles Sabo have to offer, though the grip was not suitable for heavy prowler press, especially with a low to ground grip. They slid on the track with only 125kg loaded and the rubber soles started to disintegrate on the track upon first use.
    Can't really fault them for this though, this sort of movement is not what they were designed for, and they performed well for standard weightlifting activities.

    These things are just amazing, staying tight to the floor for my lifts has always been an issue so having something which not only helps with that but also makes it pretty much like being glued to the floor does wonders.

    I have yet to use them in a proper gym but once i do i will be back to edit my review but so far their use has been top notch and i definitely recommend them to anyone needing that little bit of stick to the floor.

    Blue for a change

    New blue boots a change from red. Brilliant item as usual. Great service that you always get from Emma and Darren. This is the second pair of these boots we have bought super boots. Fancied a change of colour. Hopefully use in comps next year. COVID willing.

    Great for Sumo Deadlifts

    Bought them a year ago and still holding up. Use them for everything. Only once for squats and felt closer to the ground that's for sure. One of the insoles moved inside the shoe and would come off when taking them off so just replaced both. Overall a good deadlift shoe.
