A question we are often asked | How does the SABO Slay compare to the SABO Deadlift? Which one should I choose?
The key similarity between the SABO Slay and the SABO Deadlift is the sole. Both share an ultra-thin (2-5mm) minimal sole that is flat. This makes both shoes ideal for deadlifting. Many other lifters also use them for squats, bench and other lifts. The sole on the SABO Slay is softer and a touch grippier than the SABO Deadlift. If you are considering the SABO Deadlift then rest assured, the sole is still very grippy! The sole on the SABO Slay is also stitched.
The SABO Deadlift features metal reinforced eyelets for the top section. It also features metatarsal and ankle straps which provide superior support. The metatarsal strap in particular helps lock your foot into position.
In summary, the difference in performance is marginal. If you are a powerlifter then we recommend choosing whichever shoe you prefer. For those looking for a good all-round shoe for lifting then opt for the SABO Slay.
Amazing shoes just round up if you’re between sizes. I’m usually a 10/10.5 but got the Russian 45 and they’re a tight (but comfortable fit) probably spot on
Wysylka sprawnie, buty sztos, jestem bardzo zadowolony.
Just switched from Adidas powerlift shoes to these, being able to feel the floor more helps a lot. Amazing for bench and deadlifts, so glad I bought these!
Amazing shoe for all lifts, especially for deadlifting in. Needed to order next size up on the shoe guide
Very nice shoe. Use for all three lifts, minimal sole so can feel everything through the floor. I needed to go up a size for mine
As someone who has always had problems with flat feet and an unstable tripod foot, I wanted to test these for about a month before submitting a full review. They feel incredibly planted and close to the floor, extremely grippy even when pulling sumo. The sole resists shear force even on relatively slippery surfaces. Easily a 5-star shoe for Bench and Deadlifts, perhaps a 4 star shoe for Squats given how light they are. They weigh so little that if your foot spreads the shoe may not be sturdy/heavy enough to support the ankle on the heaviest squats. Although I suffer from this issue, I have found the benefits (grip and the ability to plant the foot) outweigh the negatives. A bit more mass/stiffness in the ankle and inside of the foot area would make this a 6 star shoe.
Today I used them for the first time and the experiencie is amazing. The control of my deadlift is much better and the position of my back too. Excellent product!
Bought the 38 as Im a size five but returned for the 39 as they are a little snug so do measure carefully, I was just borderline and didn't like my toes at the end of the shoe .
Returns process is so easy and straightforward too.
The shoes are fabulous, I've been deadlifting in socks and these are lovely and flat, plenty of feeling in the floor. Great for squats and bench too. Lots of grip on the soles, no slip at all. Really great all round shoe for lifting in. I feel very confident in them.
Bought the blue laces and they came ready laced up for me so thank you!
Great for all types of deadlift, and day wear! Bought 2 ! Delivery great as well
I bought these as a ' general purpose' boot.
They are excellent for doing virtually anything if you can't be bothered to keep switching footwear for squats/deadlifts/bench etc.
If you can't afford/ be bothered to use other lifting boots, these are an excellent all rounder.
